Light L16 Camera

The saying goes… the best camera is the one you have with you. It is true. And while I wish I could/would carry my DSLR camera with me at all times it just isn’t practical. So, a full 95-percent of my photos are shot with my Apple iPhone. Well things are about to change in a big way. The Light L16 Camera ($1,699, minus $400 if you order this month) has 16 individual cameras and is the world’s first multi-aperture computational camera. What the heck does that mean? It means that you get the control of a DSLR in a form factor not much bigger than a smartphone. The camera can go as high as 52-megapixels, has a large touchscreen, onboard editing, and built-in Wi-Fi.

Still not impressed? Watch the video after the break. But really, this tiny camera allows for some impressive tricks like incredible depth of field that allows post-photo light, focus, and depth adjustments all the way to f/1.2! True optical zoom for the close-up photos, 35-150mm. Low light isn’t a problem with Light’s imaging engine that makes up for poor lighting conditions. Apple, hurry up and buy these guys and put it in my iPhone!
